‘Tis the season for sub-zero temperatures and brisk wind that leaves skin dry and chapped. The winter months in Syracuse are brutal, but I’m fully armed this year with my favorite soft skin products that work to hydrate, moisturize and brighten all at once.

  1. Dolce & Gabbana Cleansing Milk: This micro-emulsion serum is much thicker than most face lotions and face creams. I put it on before bed to keep my face moisturized.
  2. Philosophy Hands of Hope: Even though I wear gloves outdoors, my hands still suffer and become so dry and crackled. This hand and cuticle cream rescues dry hands, leaving them smooth and soft.
  3. Hydrating Face Mask: I am obsessed with face masks. Find one at Sephora or Target that restores, moisturizes, and brightens your face.
  4. Gucci Body Lotion: I put lotion on my legs, knees, arms, elbows, and hands in the morning, after I shower, and before bed to combat dry skin.

Live From Packing // Travel-Sized Beauty

Hi darlings! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. For the past few days I have been checking things off of every study abroad packing list I could find on Pinterest to gear up for my semester in Italy. Personally, the packing process and the long flight are really stressful. While I know most of the things that could go wrong won’t actually happen, I still have many anxieties.

Fortunately, I’ve found ways to have fun while packing, such as planning outfits I can wear and finding cute travel-sized beauty products to bring. While airlines limit the amount of ounces you can bring for toiletries, travel-sized products make it easy to primp while on the go. After scouring Sephora and the travel toiletries section at Target, I rounded up all of the best toiletries and makeup I am bringing along with me to Europe. Enjoy!

All About: Skincare

Though I manage to survive finals week each semester, my skin definitely takes the toll. A combination of late nights studying and too much coffee leaves my skin suffering. Luckily I have mastered a skincare product routine that works for my skin and keeps it smooth, acne-free, and moisturized.

Clean + Revitalize

Dolce & Gabbana Cleansing Water: Gently takes off makeup.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: My all-time favorite face wash! This is good for people with sensitive skin.

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Scrub: I use this after cleaning my face with Cetaphil. The cooling microbeads always wake up my skin in the morning and keep acne out.

Tone + Balance

SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion + Essence: This pair is what helped save my skin last year when I had a lot of acne. It completely balances the skin, perfectly drying out the acne while also getting rid of excess oil.

SK-II Power Essence: I use this serum when my skin is really suffering and is in serious need of moisture. It is so soft!

Sephora Pomegranate Face Mask: This mask always assists in balancing the skin, as well as energizing my pores.

Eye Rescue

My eye bags have really been struggling lately, and a lack of sleep during finals week plus a mass-cleaning of my dusty apartment left my eyes puffy and my eye circles dark. The Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask  helps calm the puffiness and redness, and the SK-II Signs Eye Mask adds an abundance of moisture. I use the SK-II Essence Eye and Boscia Avino Eye Treatment  daily to prevent getting large eye bags.

Moisturize + Soothe

This is by far my favorite part of my skincare routine! These masks, scrubs, and lotions keep my skin feeling super-soft and moisturized. I would recommend each of these products, they are so worth it.

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

Dolce & Gabbana Aurealux Mask

Clay Masks in Acai + Avocado Oatmeal (available at Drugstores)

Lush Face Scrub

Olay Sculpting Cream

Final Touches

In addition to my usual skincare routine, sometimes my skin needs some serious rescue and attention. I use the SK-II Mid-Day Essence to give my skin a boost when its suffering during the hustle and bustle of the day. The Dolce & Gabbana Cleansing Milk also adds intense moisture for extremely dry skin. Lastly, my Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue energizing body wash and mint Eos lip balm help keep me feeling refreshed, especially during the winter months.

I hope you enjoyed my skincare routine!

A Time for Change

{Free People tunic, on sale here!}

I was in the mood for a spontaneous change when I visited the hair salon this week, prompting me to tell my hairstylist to “cut it all off!!” I’m thrilled with the way the long bob (“lob”) turned out, and I’m excited to have simple, manageable hair while I’m studying abroad in Europe.

For the next couple of weeks my hair will probably be swept up into a ponytail because our household will be busy with hosting holiday parties, wrapping gifts, running errands, and baking yummy treats.

Have a great weekend!

Lovely Little Luxuries | Staying In

After a long day of class and work, I usually opt for a relaxing night in than a crazy night out. While of course there are many times when I want to be a college student and have fun with friends, there are also nights when I simply need to chill out and recoup to prepare to finish out the rest of the week strong. Though my ideal ways to rewind include a massage or a bubble bath filled with Lush bath bombs, I have to be realistic with the fact that I am in college and can’t afford to get a massage every time I’m stressed (and I also don’t have a bathtub.) Rewinding after a busy day can be just as efficient with comfy blankets, cute pj’s, a feel-good movie or book, candles, and soothing face masks. I’ve compiled all my favorite essentials for a cozy night of staying in.

Refreshing snacks: strawberries, La Croix sparkling water (obsessed!!), decaf green tea

In-home spa: soothing face masks from Dolce&Gabbana and SK-II (leave on for 15 minutes and your face will feel completely moisturized + rejuvenated), Essie nail polishes

Snuggled up: Forever 21 sleep shorts, Urban Outfitters cozy socks, T.J.Maxx candle

What are your favorite little luxuries to help you rewind after a busy day?

Lovely Little Luxuries | Summer Makeup

My obsession with Syracuse may be getting out hand… but I have to admit I am currently obsessed with the blue and orange color combination. Either I just really miss college and our school colors, or this combo appeals to me because the two are contrast colors. I often pair these shades together for outfits, but they work for beauty as well.

We’ve already discussed my obsession with orange lipstick, so it should not come as a surprise that I featured this Dolce&Gabbana Lipstick in “Tender.” This shade pairs perfectly with the Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue perfume, a lovely summer fragrance, and my current Essie favorites: “Bikini So Teeny” and “Private Weekend.”

What are your favorite summer beauty products?

Whiteout + Pop of Orange

{Milani orange lipstick in Sweet Nectar, Forever 21 earrings, similar here, Mixology bralette + necklaces}

Fridays in the summer mean two things: leaving work early and wearing a casual outfit. Today I chose classic white jeans and my favorite white tee, and decided to go for a monochromatic, casual look (also known as Normcore.) However, for a girl that loves colors, I had to add a little pop. I have been obsessed with orange lipstick recently, and this Walgreens buy I’m wearing above was only $5! I am going to be exploring art museums with a friend after work today, so in order to ensure maximum comfort, wore my beloved birks.

I hope you have a great weekend!
