{palm trees are all I need}

Hola! I’ve just got back from my spring break with a little too much sun, amazing photographs, and a whole lot of memories. After finishing up my midterm exams, I jetted off to Madrid, Spain to celebrate my 21st birthday. Though I studied the Spanish language for six years, this was my first time setting foot in the country. The colorful buildings, sangria, and tapas certainly did not disappoint! It was an amazing weekend spent exploring the cool city and celebrating a big milestone with my boyfriend and best friend.

My friends and I then all met up in Las Palmas de Gran Canaries, more commonly known as the Canary Islands. Just off the coast of Africa and Spain, the little beach town offered a beautiful bright blue ocean, sunny palm trees, yummy smoothies, and a fun week for spring break. While jumping around Europe is extremely fun and I have certainly caught the travel bug, I was actually so grateful to come back to Florence today. It’s a lot smaller of a city than many of the ones I’ve visited, and its familiarity and the Italian culture provide for an amazing home base. I’m definitely going to need to spend the next few days catching up on sleep (something that I did not do over spring break) to rest up for a busy weekend ahead exploring four cities in Italy.

Have an amazing week!

xx, Laina
